September and October have provided me with some great writing opportunities and tonight was no exception! I was able to be part of Inkwell Theatre's Virtual Playwright's Night with my new script that I'm working on called Jingwei.
It takes part of the Chinese myth about a daughter who is taken by the ocean and combines it with the story of mother's loss, surrogacy, and adoption to bridge both Chinese and U.S. cultures.
The actresses Emily Kuroda and Cherish Monique Duke did an amazing job with the piece to bring humor and heart to the piece. I'm hoping for another chance to work with Inkwell again soon!
